
Tree Policy
TREE MANAGEMENT POLICY
The Bishops Ridge Homeowners Association (HOA) is responsible for the maintenance of the common areas in Bishops Ridge, in accordance with its covenants and bylaws. Therefore, the HOA is obligated to keep the trees in the common areas in generally good condition and to maintain a safe environment for residents.
Homeowner requests for trimming/removal of trees on common property must be sent to the HOA’s Management Company, William Douglas. They will notify the HOA Board, and the Board will review the case.
When emailing William Douglas: Please provide photos of the tree in question in relation to your property line. If the tree is close to your property line, you may be required to provide a copy your property survey establish ownership of the tree in question.

Section 1: Conditions for removal of trees
Dead trees residing on Bishop's Ridge common property where if the tree fell it could or would damage owner or common property (fences, single family or townhomes, detached structures, etc.).
Live trees on Bishop's Ridge common property may be removed if the opinion of a professional and licensed arborist is that trimming the canopy which extends over homeowner property will kill the tree.
Section 2: Outlining the Work To Be Done With Removal
Bishop's Ridge will not pay for stump removal.
Bishop's Ridge will pay for removal of the tree if it sits within a drainage area and could obstruct the free flow of water.
In all other cases the tree will be cut down and no removal of the trunk or limbs will be done.
Section 3: Homeowner Responsibility
Homeowners are responsible for maintenance of trees and shrubs on their property.
